Stepping Into 2026: A Year for Growth, Accountability, and Real Results

By Wan Salbiah Mior Yahya

Founder & CEO, ZACC MYTOWN (Zara Aisyah Care Centre)

Every December, I sit down and look at the year behind me.

The joy. The chaos. The mistakes. The growth.

The things that made me cry at night and the things that made me smile the next morning.

Running a geriatric care centre is not just a business — it is a battlefield of hearts, emotions, patience, and humanity.

And this year…this year tested all of us.

But it also taught me something precious:

Not everyone wants to grow — but those who do, will rise beyond what they ever imagined.

2025 Was a Year of Awakening

We learned many things as a team:

  • That discipline is not punishment — it is protection.
  • That accountability is not blame — it is maturity.
  • That effort is louder than words.
  • That excuses do not build careers, but consistency does.
  • That teamwork is only teamwork when everyone participates.

And perhaps the hardest truth:

Growth cannot happen if we keep pointing fingers outward instead of looking inward.

We learned this together — through challenges, misunderstandings, losses, and breakthroughs.

2025 taught us who we are.

2026 will determine who we choose to become.

In 2026, I Want Us to Grow — Not Just Talk About Growth

We all love the idea of getting better. Stronger. More successful. More skilled. More respected.

But real growth requires:

  • effort,
  • discipline,
  • humility,
  • the courage to accept feedback,
  • and the willingness to change.

We cannot expect new results with old habits.

We cannot step into a new year while carrying the same excuses.

We cannot dream of success while avoiding the effort that builds it.

And we certainly cannot blame others for the areas we refuse to improve.

In 2026, I want to see:

  • more initiative,
  • more willingness to learn,
  • more ownership of responsibilities,
  • more pride in our work,
  • more compassion,
  • more unity,
  • more professionalism.

Not for me. Not for ZACC. But for you — for who you have the potential to become.

2026 Is the Year We Stop Surviving — and Start Growing

For too long, many of us have worked from a place of survival:

  • “Asal siap.”
  • “Janji hantar.”
  • “Tak apa, nanti buat.”
  • “Biar orang lain yang buat.”

That mindset ends this year. In 2026, we shift from:

surviving → thriving

avoiding → improving

complaining → contributing

fear → confidence

blame → accountability

No more “I cannot.” Only “I will learn.”

No more “That’s not my job.” Only “How can I help?”

No more “Dia salah.” Only “Let me do better next time.”

This is how we grow — as individuals and as a team.

A New Chapter for ZACC MYTOWN

2026 will be a year of:

  • expansion
  • new systems
  • new opportunities
  • new skill-building
  • new leadership development
  • better communication
  • better structure
  • better teamwork

We are moving forward — with or without the resistance.

For those who walk with us, for those who choose growth over comfort, for those who put their heart into this work…

There is so much waiting for you.

More than you realise.

To My Team — Thank You, and Let’s Rise Together

To those who worked hard this year…

who cried quietly…

who carried the weight of their roles…

who stayed even when it was tough…

I see you.

I appreciate you.

And I am walking into 2026 with you by my side.

Let us enter the new year with:

  • renewed purpose,
  • stronger discipline,
  • kinder hearts,
  • sharper skills,
  • and the commitment to be better — every single day.

Not by chance. Not by luck. But by effort.

2026 is not the year we hope. It is the year we build.

Happy New Year.

Let’s grow — truly grow — together.

Sincerely,

Wan Salbiah Mior Yahya
